Merry Christmas

I just thought that I would post and wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I will be doing a new blog entry almost every day starting on January 12, 2009. So please stay tuned for that. I am ready for baseball season to begin, but it never really does end. World Baseball Classic is right around the bend and I am pretty pumped for that baseball extravaganza. Also, the great Mark Teixeira race continues. I will be surprised if the Sox don't end up with Teixeira, but I would think that it is probably a two-horse race now with the Sox and the Nats. I do want to add my two cents about the criticism writers have over the salaries players like Sabathia and Teixeira will be making. I think it is a joke that writers and sports analysts are up-in-arms over the spending sprees by teams like the Yankees and Red Sox. Why do the writers spend their time crying over the bloated salaries to the teams when it is individuals at the highest levels of management who hold the power to put a salary cap on major league baseball? The concept that small-market teams can't hold their own against teams with deep pockets is a ridiculous notion. It is obvious that there are issues with spending, but the salaries are what make the game so interesting and the underdog stories so fascinating. With that I will wrap up this Holidays post.
